Haven't been there myself but they say Wilson is one of the best. And I know they are trying to make Glen Elder a trophy smallmouth lake as they have a long length limit.

Is it a number deal or more like several Big ones instead of catching 60 a day? Trying not to go way up north

Glen Elder, Wilson, Milford, and Melven have good populations. 60 fish a day would be tough depending on the time of year at any. My pick would be Melven but I haven’t been there in 2 years so it could not be as good as it was then. There may be a better lake southeast part of the state but those are the four that I have fished.

Coffey county or wolf creek if you are after good snallies doesn’t get all th me tournament pressure since it a power plant lake it’s reslly good in summer or soring on south end of
    lake lots of
island and rock piles. Plus it’s only a few minutes away from melvern.

As said before, timing is everything. When are you wanting to go? You coming by yourself? I would be willing to show you around Melvern or Coffey County(wolf creek) if I am free.

Depends on what you consider big, melvern and coffey county are both good smallmouth lakes. They both have 5lb. Smallmouth in them, but it's rare to catch one that size. A more realistic expectation would be lots of fish caught in the 1.5-3lb. range. Let us know if you decide to come, I'd be glad to show you either lake. I fish them both alot, and I've seen the pictures of that bad a$$ bullet you've got. Would love to go for a ride, lol.
