Could there be more on top end

Ran the boat today. Water temp 38 degrees. 1/2 above pad and running a bobnose cone lower nothing special with it. Running a Croxton 28 pitch XL. Curious if there might be more, or is this bought the best it'll do?

How much setback and whats the gear ratio? A 94 model should run faster than that but theyre also way better served with a 2.5L being a flyweight

    You should be running faster, my 2004 21XDC with a 2005 250XS ran 86, but I had a sporty with 1:62's

12 inch. Not sure on gear ratio. It's aftermarket lower.

    I would think with a conned LU, a healthy 250XB, 1.62s or 1.75s, 12-14s of setback....90 or so.

I believe it has a higher gear ratio than that. I'll try and find out. Motor is healthy or I believe it is. Doesn't take long to get to 77-79 mph.

If it is a stock 250XB case it is 1.75 gears.

If its an sei lower it could be a 2:1. We used to just get all kinds of random ratios no matter what you tell them you need. Im betting you got a 2:1 on there mistakenly. And to fix it you gotta roll the dice on another lower and bust out the wallet again for another nosecone because the gearsets never swap over to another sei case. Youd be well served to find a 1.62 sporty for that boat as light as it is. At least with the speed youre getting my theory kinda lines up. You can turn the flywheel with the motor in gear and kill switch pulled to see how many revs it takes to spin the prop once

I have always wanted to blast down the Little Rd when they were generating in my Bullet, Just to say I did. Put in at the Dam and get after it.

I ran my 20 XD at 1.25 above the pad with a Bob's cone with both a 225 pro xs and a 300xs. You should be in the mid 90 s. You need to know the ratio and play with some bigger props.

Change props, Try a Performer ET 4, Performer BC 4 ,Pro ET or a BBlade blaster.

Any of those props will help topend quite a bit.

You can figure what gear ratio you are running by rpm/speed/pitch. Just use a prop slip calculator in reverse.

I use to run a 250hpdi on my 20XD, Id run 85-87 2 guys loaded to fish with a 31p hydromotive with 1.75 gears, i was running level to pad. The XB is a stronger motor then a HPDI.
