Family fishing vacation within six hours of NW Ohio?

For those in the Midwest - what would you recommend as a good destination for a 4-5 day fishing vacation with the family? On the water lodging preferred; boat slip nice but not necessary. Wife and daughter enjoy fishing but not to the extent that my son and I do so I need some things close by for them to go do. Anytime between June 1 and Sept 1.

Lake Erie is our home water so looking to go somewhere else.

    Thanks in advance

Traverse City Michigan area. Lots of family stuff to do, and lots of great fishing nearby.

Northern Michigan is my vote too, but you better decide quick. Make it a 6-7 days there's plenty to see and enjoy for everyone.

    Coles Point Resort

On the Trent river system below Rice Lake. 7 hours from Akron, Ohio. Been going there for 30 yrs, my grandkids are 4th generation there. Perfect family fishing destination - LM, SM, Pike, Muskies,Walleye and lots of rock bass and bluegills for the kids.

Cabins on the waterfront, boat ramp on premise.

This is a really cool tool that I've messed around with at times. You enter your location, enter a travel time, and hit compute. It highlights the map showing you all the places you could drive in a given amount of time!

    https://www.oalley.net/map

Just quickly using Toledo as a starting point (not knowing exactly where you live) and 6 hours as the range, you can basically get to all of lower Michigan, as far north and east as Toronto, Buffalo, and Niagara Falls (including a lot of southern Ontario), as far north and west as southern WI, and as far south as Louisville.

Hamlin lake on the west side of Michigan is an awesome place, you have the whole lake to fish plus lake Michigan Beaches are amazing right there. In town there's plenty to do and you can travel just a bit north or south of there and find even more.

Might be stretching the distance a bit but the Saranac NY area in the Adirondacks is spectacular.

Saranac has my vote too. Have Lake placid nearby and can hit Tupper, Saranac, and Cranberry within that area. Beautiful atmosphere, a lot to do, and some of the best fishing around. Most people don’t hit them because they run to the 1000 islands or Champlain

Burt Lake/Mullett Lake/Indian River area, straight up I75. Upper peninsula is less than an hour away.

Or the Irish Hills area of MI, near Brooklyn. Tons of small lakes there and many connected by canals.

I lived five minutes from Hamlin lake for 17 years. Great lake. Ludington is an awesome town. BUt id go further north to Traverse City. Great Inland Lakes around there (Leelanau, Green, Duck, Long, Elk/Torch,etc). Plus Grand Traverse Bay can be amazing for huge smallmouth.

Thanks for the suggestions, will spend some time looking at them. Some we have already visited but a lot of good ones there that I am not familiar with.

Finger lakes. I fished Conesus, Cayuga and Ontario. We did 4 days last year. For the non fishing people: Letchworth, Watkins Glen, Taughannock Falls.
