No grass left in my backyard due to all the rain over the past year. We shattered all the rainfall records in 2018 and this year has started out the same.

I usually get out this time of year and build some brush piles while the lake is at winterpool. May not get to this year as all the rain is keeping the lake up.

We've been wet here since October. Yard is saturated because the Mississippi is the highest I can remember for this time of year. Rain has been coming and never really dried up. All this rain and high water since October/November makes for an interesting spring.

Or snow. 1" rain = approx. 10" snow.

On a happy note, next two Saturdays are going to feel like heat waves.

That they will. I've been saying ever since I moved to MN that 10 degrees is better than 30 degrees, as crazy as it sounds. I think the biggest reason is that the air is dryer at 10 degrees than 30 when it's usually damp, so it doesn't cut through you the same way (similar to how 75 degrees and muggy can be worse than 90 degrees and dry). It's also almost always bright and sunny when it's very cold, and the wind usually isn't blowing. That last point isn't holding true today as it's absolutely gassing and sitting around 5 degrees, but that's definitely the exception rather than the rule.

While 10 degrees may be better than 30, that line of thinking goes out the window pretty quickly when it starts dropping below zero. Days where the high is below zero just ain't no fun no matter how you try to spin it. We've honestly had a really mild winter to this point. I'm not complaining!

Dang, and to think I get upset because the lake temps gets below 50 deg F and the bass seem to get lock jaw.

I would take those colder temps in a heartbeat over the rain and sloppy conditions we have been dealing with. My sump pump needs a break!!!

Wettest fall/winter we’ve had in along time. I’m tired of it. Ready for spring!!!
