Just updated mine. Update only took 11 minutes. Don't bother saving your settings from software 3.3, they are not compatible with new software. Have to reconfigure them manually.

All in all I think if there are a bunch of changes it is better to start over anyway. Boy we sure would like a clean update this time! Good luck everyone!

WHOA!! The first statement in the update says Onix will no longer network if this is updated on your Solix. If you have done it the only way to get your Solix to communicate with the onix again is send it in and get it set back to the previous update. For a minimum of $220!!!

Yes, that sucks. C/S told me they would be compatible.

If I update my Solix 15 at the console then, that will make it a much easier decision to replace my bow mounted Onix 10, with Garmin's live scope, or Lowrance's live sight. I'm going to add some type of forward looking sonar at the bow this year, and have been disappointed that HB hasn't improved on its 360 technology. I haven't had my boat out since installing the 3.300 update, to see if that's improved the depth issues, DI dropping out, and random screen freezing, requiring reboots that seem to take forever.

This networking incompatibility news is disappointing. I've been with HB for several years, but you're getting close to losing me HB.

Wow, will have to learn the unit all over again with this huge update. Number one thing I saw was “
    • Fixed several special cases where Digital Depth would not be reported correctly.”

This is sad! It makes onix useless. So it means, that if someone wants to link solix and onix they will have digital depth reading issues for life. My units were +9000usd new and i cant read bottom correctly. Well played HB!

Mostly works great. The only thing I have found is changing a Favorite view to not be a Favorite view doesn't work--no menu item to do it.

Update, the Favorite view deal works OK, just different.

One good improvement is the Front 360 view takes up the whole screen width now like the Helix does:

I emailed HB about my Onix / Solix situation and after some back and forth the response from HB was "Sorry for the inconvenience but there will be no future Onix updates and the Solix will not be able to communicate with Solix if I choose to update"! Bob

Here is a chat I just had with Dawn at Humminbird Customer Service

    REINHARD R POPE

I have a Solix 12 SI, Onix 8 SI and Helix 12 Si networked on my boat. I read that the latest software update for the Solix is not compatible with Onix and they can no longer be networked. Is this going to be a permanent situation or are you working on an update for Onix so that it will work with the Solix with the latest update? Also, does the latest Solix update (3.360) affect its ability to share waypoints with Helix? 12:13 PM

You are now chatting with dturner

    DTURNER
Hello Reinhard , my name is Dawn, I will be helping you today. 12:16 PM

    DTURNER
The latest update does not eliminate the ability for the waypoints to share between the HELIX and SOLIX. As for the ability for the ONIX to work with the SOLIX in the future, it is not determined that this will be coming. 12:17 PM

    REINHARD R POPE
Will the Onix and Solix be able to share waypoints at least? 12:18 PM

    DTURNER
I will have to check on this but to my knowledge they will not be. I will confirm this. One moment.12:19 PM

    DTURNER
The waypoints will not be shareable with the SOLIX and ONIX after this update. ONIX will have a new release in the future but still will not make this compatible to network to the SOLIX. 12:27 PM

    DTURNER
If you intend to continue to network the SOLIX and ONIX it is recommended not to update the SOLIX to this newest version of software. 12:28 PM

    REINHARD R POPE
Wow. That is too bad. 12:28 PM

    REINHARD R POPE
Thanks for your help. I hope they decide to make them compatible at some point. A lot of people can't afford to upgrade everything all at once 12:30 PM

    DTURNER
Is there anything else I can assist you with today?12:31 PM

    REINHARD R POPE
    Nope. That's it 12:31 PM
