    Most people stretch this trim when putting down/on. It needs to be warm and pushed into a inside curve. A outside curve will pull up or down if stretched on a angle. I'd be willing to bet if you pulled that strip up. From the loose spot to the closest end and heated it to bring back memory. When you push it in place. Your strip will be around a 1/2" short.
    If the surface you're attaching 3M tape to is clean. You should have to cut it loose.

    If both surfaces are clean and warm, and time is given for the adhesive to bond, 3M VHB will hold. You'll have to cut or pry it off
