Fuel rail cleaning and injector cleaning/calibration.

Has anyone had their fuel rails and injectors cleaned & calibrated? I've got about 250 hours on my 03' 250XS S# 0T652530. I'm curious if any performance was gained.

Thanks for the info. Are there any instructions on how to properly remove them anywhere?

In the FAQ, I did a pictorial of the process for my 2.5L, but the process will be essentially the same for your engine.

Send it to Don...just do it.

So if I understand the instructions correctly when I re-assemble I will need to find a dealer who can prime the system?

No need for a Dealer to "prime the system".

Correct- there is no prime required if ONLY removing the rails, injectors and Direct Injectors.

You were likely reading where an Air Compressor was being replaced (that scenario WOULD require an oil pump prime sequence).

IMPORTANT: Please be sure to contact the office BEFORE pulling and sending your system in. Thanks!

In my case, and as covered in the linked topic, I also replaced reeds which required disconnecting lines from oil pump and that was the reason an oil pump prime sequence was required. Don made that distinction in reply #17 to the linked topic.

Mine were done because of the compressor failure. I did not gain any performance.

Hey crank. How much did all the cleaning cost? Do you get an increase in RPMs when you got it back? I’m likely going to have mine done this spring so I’m researching. Thx.

My old boat was too small.

Injector service will vary engine to engine. Best to download the injector service form (which contains base pricing for rails and several types of injectors) by clicking on "Injector Service" in Don's signature.
