I know it’s not good on a motor to be sitting for that long but as far as the boat goes is anything going to need replacing because it sat for long? Thank you to everyone for the advice!!!!!! Really helps having people who know champs really well to help out so thank you to everyone.

Wow! I can’t believe it hasn’t sold already. Would love to have it.

That said, for what he’s asking you could probably get a boat that doesn’t have a wood transom and comes with graphs and a TM

Alot of that cost is the SHO, not many boats with a motor that new cheaper.

Texas is odd sometimes, people just see that year and dismiss the boat. Most don’t even know about the ride.

OP, will he let you lake test it?

The carpet has no tears and neither do the seats, it’s in immaculate condition for its age besides some scratches and some wear on the hull from being fished exclusively on lake fork for the first 3 years of its life before it sat in the storage from 95’-14’

It doesn’t come with any graphs or TM and just has a cranking battery so I would need to get new ones which is no big deal to me

Yeah I read the Texas thread. Wider beam boats are popular these days but if I had to replace my 201 I would hope that I could find something like that

Im sure he would be alright with a test drive but I think I am just going to run it in our test tank at work, he is sick and can’t get around very good right now so I don’t want to ask too much of him

That is a nice looking ride. I'd have no problems buying that once it was inspected. I like the colors too. Maybe it's time for a road trip to Texas.

    Dude...
That's what a few of us would call an UN-refusable offer, why aren't you on the way to go get it?

Seriously man, lake run it first just to ease your mind. Take one of your bosses with you. Make sure the ass of the boat is still above the water line.

^^This! Never buy a boat without water testing it. I mean you're going to buy a Champion, so "ride and decide."
