    2019 Z520C speed

What are you seeing for top speed on a 2019 Z520 w/ 250 proXS (4stroke), Ultrex and power poles?

My buddy just got the same rig,ran it the first time last Saturday. Nothing in it but two men,he got 74.6 at 6k rpm and was still climbing slowly. Probably will be a 72 mph rig when loaded. I’m sure others will chime in with more experience.

42hrs on mine. The last tourney I fished was a BFL Regional. Full tank of gas. Two anglers and full live well was a solid 70.8 for a 15 min run @ 6100. By myself 3/4 tank fuel 73.5 mph and 6150 rpm.

Dang, that's it?? I was hoping these new ProXS 4S's would be close to the same speeds as the 2 stroke. But don't get me wrong, 70.8 is still getting it; compared to how fast I can walk on the bank lol. Hopefully by the time I'm ready to buy again, SHOs will be done caught up with production.

I do believe many guys will say the L boats are a little slower than the C boats. Also, my 2011 Z521 / Merc 2 Stroke is a little slower now that I have the Ultrex on. I was a consistent 70, and now it is topping out around 69.

That's not bad with that load. I'm considering buying one in the near future. I had a 2002 520vx and have always wanted to get back in a Ranger. Currently in a 2017 21TRX.

The four-stroke is stronger than mine. My 2018 Z520c with 2-stroke 250 Pro XS runs 70-71 and loaded around 69-70

Yeah the 4 stroke is faster in every way on a 520C. I have had an '18 model with a 2 stroke and now '19 with the 4 stroke. Identical boats minus the motor and prop, 25p fury on the 2 stroke, 23p fury on the 4 stroke. My 4 stroke has never seen over 5800 rpm and ran 70.8 with a full load livewells full, 2 guys etc. The 2 stroke would run 67-68 setup the exact same way and struggled to get 5500 rpm with a load and was a dogggg out of the hole. Mind you I only have 6 hrs on my 4 stroke but during break in on short bursts of WOT I saw 73 but never have ran it out light yet. But its clearly not the same boat with the 4 stroke, it will jump out of the hole and LIFT the bow with that 23p. I never downsized props with my 2 stroke but it needed something it was bad. I came out of a 2005 520VX with a 2012 225 Pro XS 2 stroke that was a rocket ship so when I got in my 2018 with the 250 2 stroke I was disappointed to say the least.

I struggling to get 67- 68 with my 250 Pro XS 4 stroke on a 2019 C boat and can't hit 5700 RPMs with me driving and ZERO tackle, empty live wells and 1/2 tank of gas. The hole shot is awful with the 23p Fury, hydraulic plate has to be all the way up or it takes nearly 8 seconds to get on plane. 25 hours and break-in was done properly. Im extremely frustrated right now.....Help!

I don’t have any help for you but that sucks. Something isn’t right. You might try a different prop, even same brand, style and pitch. Just to see if the one you have is bad.

What are your RPM's on the holeshot? Is it blowing out or not not producing rpm? What plugs do you have in your prop?

3600 to 4000 with all plugs out and motor down or up to 8 on gauge. Blowing out when planes with JP all the way up or anything above 8 on the gauge.

Sounds like fantastic setup! Curious what motor height you're running and how the holeshot is. I got mine 2 weeks ago and here in WI all I can do is dream about running it this time of year. Looking for a baseline starting point on motor height.

73 is the most I've seen. Loaded down with two guys it's 69 to 71 depending on the weather and elevation.
