One of the Ranger trailer engineers told me two years ago, that when Goodyear switched the production of their Marathon trailer tire to China, the quality and reliability went to the crapper. He told me that is why Ranger started using Carlilse's. Still made in China but he said Carlilse would stand behind their product. I don't know if Goodyear is still offering the Chinese made Marathon tire, but I would not run them or any other Chinese piece of crap on my trailer.

Whats the speed rating of Goodyear Endurance trailer tires?
Kumho 857s are 99mph I think - the old Marathons were 65 or so.

I got Goodyear Endurance tires on my trailer last summer and I am well pleased. They are a quality tire.

If running Goodyear Endurance tires NEVER just assume you must fill your tires to max pressure. The link below is what you need to inflate your tires to. Open the link then go to the load inflation table and find your particular setup. Old wives tales suggesting max pressure is not correct for this tire.

i run a single axle trailer under my boat, a 4 wheeler trailer, and a 6 x 12 utility trailer, and i will NEVER run a trailer tire again. Ive had blow outs on all trailers. I went to LT rated highway tires and have had NO Issues in 3 years on any of the trailers since.

He is correct. The Goodyear Endurance is made in Gadsden Alabama.
Thats new version, i stopped selling goodyear a while back as they had moved much of their manufacturing overseas, might need to look again

Went with the Carlisle tires. They did very well. Had the bearings changed before the trip as well. Grand Caravan RT pulled the boat 900 miles each way. Highest transmission temp was 200 for a short time. 95 percent of the time it was 180 or less. 4% it was about 190. rule of thumb seemed to be air temp +100 to 110 degrees. Must have picked up a nail or something at South of the Boarder on the way back. Ended up with a tire that went low twice in 40 min after leaving there. First time both rear tires needed 10lbs Second time it went low it was just one tire and it was looking 50% flat at this point. Put more air in and Googled a Wal-Mart Super Center and drove 4 miles there and had a new goodyear tire put on. I will replace the other rear in a few weeks to match and use the M. Defender as a full size spare and mount it to the trailer for boat trips since the van has a dounut as a spare. No issues the rest of the trip back. I would not hesitate to pull it with the van again 9 months out of the year. But I will put a transmission cooler on it for next years trip incase it is hotter. I never pull the boat in the Summer time more than 5 miles.

I will never buy another Goodyear tire. Too many headaches and BS over the years. Maxxis has been much better for me.
Don't blame you if you have had bad experiences from Goodyears. Chinese made tires has caused me about $3000 in trailer damage. As said before all due to internal belt separation from poor workmanship. So I feel the same way as you regarding any brand of Chinese made tires.
