    Jerkbait Storage

I have accumulated a few Megabass baits over the winter. However, my Shimano box is full. I am not super excited about spending $75 for one box. What is a good alternative to keep my baits in good shape?

I just use standard Plano 3700s personally. I get some hoook rash but the baits don’t get beat up too bad.

Not a great pic since I took it for a different purpose but do you keep your hooks bound somehow? I don’t know what box you’re using thays $75 but I don’t want my lures getting all tangled and scratched and using small rubber bands has helped a lot.

    Bass Mafia Double Barrel

I know it's expensive, but there is nothing better on the market than the Double Barrel. I've tried 'em all and this one by far is the best. Depending on the jerkbait's size, you can fit up to 3 in each slot. It's so nice to just be able look in and grab your bait without any tangling. I like them so much that I bought a second one for spooks and pencil poppers. You can put deep cranks in there too. It's very durable as well; nothing like it.

I have so many jerkbaits I just use one of the deep plano 3700s. No hook rash on any of them (that isn't from ripping it), no rubber bands. I don't even have each compartment full.

I have 3 Shimano boxes. When will someone make a copy or similar version?

I use hook bonnets on everything with a treble hook.

This. Thin and the angled dividers are made for jerks.

I was going to recommend this as well - if you are a boater and have an appropriate place for it, as it's very decidedly a non-standard size. Protects your baits, holds many baits and is very solid construction. Personally I feel if they could have built it closer to a 3700 Deep box size specs, it would sell like gangbusters, but it would hold a few less baits.

I tried like hell to get plastics manufacturers in China to make something similar. I was going to buy a ton of them and resell them, for what I think are obvious reasons. I couldn't get any of them to give me the time of day...they sort of acted like they didn't understand what I wanted and sent me photos of stuff they already make, but I think it was just something they didn't want to mess around with. I couldn't have been more clear about what I wanted, including pictures, dimensions, and all the rest. I suppose that limited experience may explain why no one has released something similar to date.

What's the preferred box for jerkbaits - blue or green?

If I run across one that's not crazy price I will check it out. Right now I'm just using a 3700 size BM Casket with owner hook bonnets to prevent tangling.

You guys sure do spend money on odd things....Just throw them in a 3700. Any jerkbait worth a hoot is already beat to hell anyway....

So true. Do people get stressed out when a fish scuffs up their Vision 110?
