    Bezo's divorce

Can you imagine being involved in a divorce where you're splitting some $137 billion in assets? Do you argue over who gets what cars? How about the $10 million cottage? "I'll trade you 2 corporations for the Caribbean island. And the Ranger."

I'd rather be in his divorce than mine. No matter what both will still be morbidly rich. My divorce means I likely never be able to retire. And many divorces are worse than mine. The idolization of the morbidly rich is bad for our society.

Yep, neither one of their lifestyles will change at all. You can do the same with 70 billion as you can with 137 billion.

It will still hurt to lose that much wealth.

Losing the title of richest man would sting for Bezo. Along with possibly losing some control of his corporations. He’s by far the richest at $140B. Gates at 96.1B, and Buffett at $89.6B. I’m figuring he’ll try to settle for $96.2B to stay on top. Could be a tough sale asking the X to settle for $43B, but maybe she’ll listen to reason.

    Been there, done that.
Probably no retirement for me either.

I wouldn't wish the pain of a divorce on anyone.

Why is it bad to idolize someone that worked his ass off and built one of the largest companies in the world, built his own wealth, and gives aways large amounts to people every year?

I've got enough bad in my life right now. I'm not taking the bait today.

Not from what I have read, when they got married neither of them had anything basically, all wealth was gained post marriage.

I hope his new girl friend has some very special talents for all it is going to cost him to be with her!

I think they met when they were in college and she was pretty instrumental in getting Amazon going. His new girl is way hotter but this one wont have any trouble finding men.

Let’s face it ... most on here would like Bezos French kiss them, and more, for just $50M, a new F150 Platinum 4X4 and a Ranger Z522C. Nothing a little toothpaste and time on the water won’t make better.
