Congratulations. Remember some of us support LEO's. Sad a few give them a bad reflection at times like other professions. Prayers for all of our public service personnel.

    This.
While I know there are some 'bad' cops out there I believe they get a bad rap in the news most of the time. When you hear about the 'bad shooting' and see the picture of a 'grade school' kid I get suspicious pretty quickly... Usually it comes out later they have multiple arrests for violent and non violent crimes, gang affiliations, gun charges and such.
One of our last police shootings here the guy was a felon on probation, with a stolen gun he pulled, with 250+ illegal pills on him, running from police after a traffic stop and had a very long rap sheet. They posted the video and what it looked like to me is he fumbled pulling his gun out and was trying to pick it back up when he got shot. In my opinion his guy was NOT 'misunderstood' regardless of the family on TV making statements of how wonderful he was, and the various groups saying how he was treated poorly and the cops shouldn't have shot him. He was a felon. With a stolen gun. With a lot of drugs he was not supposed to have. And pulled the gun out. People make choices in life. His were bad regardless of what life handed him.
I think they need to pick better examples to show how 'unreasonable' police are if they want to get sympathy from the masses.
    Rant over...

Congrats! I was in the middle of the police academy when I entered law school! I was talked into it by the law professor teaching Legal II...I’m glad she did too! It takes a special person to put their life in their line every time they walk out of the house!

Hopefully he has good common sense, it will take him a lot further than college degrees in that line of work.

Good for him to chase his dreams, and you for being rightfully proud. Wish him the best, and pray his God watches over him and keeps him safe.
