With needle nose slightly bend the line tie opposite of direction its running..tweak until happy. Just takes a tiny bit of movement of the line tie.

This is what I did before I bought the tool, and it works well, just easier and faster imo with the tool

Yeah, that's how I do it. At first I didn't realize how little you had to move the line tie to get it to run right, so keep that in mind.

Yep, first time I tuned a crankbait I made it go from running 3-4ft off center to doing barrel rolls the opposite way hahaha. Very small pressure makes a noticeable change, but once you learn the feel you can tune any cb in a couple tries, sometimes nailing it with the first tweak

Make sure before tuning that you’re tying your line in the same spot! I make sure the openings on the O ring stay on the bill so my line is never near where it can get onto the the spot on the o ring where it can slip into the grooves.

Never seen this before and learned something. No wonder why some of the crankshafts do sideways.
I thought it was something that I did but it's the tuning that I need to do

Thank you for posting this !

On some lures I take the round split ring off and replace it with an oval ring. Does away with the line getting in the gap in the round ring. Works for me anway.

Before you try to tune a crankbait, put a duo lock clip on your line to connect it. Some lures are so sensitive that tying the line directly to the lure will pull it off center. Needlenose plyers, good ones are your friend.

That little tool makes tuning WAY easier than needle nose. I couldn't believe how well it works for a BPS product.
