difference in the Gen2 and the Gen 3 is the addition of Blue Tooth compatibility and the redesign to make more aerodynamic. Mechanics are basically the same. Some of the pulley tensioners were redesigned for better efficiency.

I played with mine in the garage today at the lake. Fast, very quiet and I love them. They seemed to slightly jack up the rear end of the boat when they hit the concrete. They seem rather strong! I programmed all 4 remotes so that 2 presses on "Down" and they both go down at same time. They are new 12' Gen-3 Talons with Blue Tooth. So far so good...

I never had an earlier set but I love my 15s so far. They did squeak a little but I sprayed them down with some dry lube and it stopped. Now they are really quiet

If I had the small lithium batteries I would still have the Talons on the back of the boat.
The extra weight with the 4 large batteries was just too much and effected the handling of the boat.
Loved the way I could park anywhere in 14' of water or less

They're very quiet to deploy but they do make a loud snap/knock noise when they stop retracting back into the housing... Both of my G3 Talons do this...

I'm kind of wondering if this is common amongst all G3 talons?

My 15's do the same thing when retracted. Just tells me they are all the way up.

Mine do it too. You know when they're up. When I'm really creeping around shallow I stop them short so they dont do it.

I’ve been looking for a gen 3 used 8’ and can’t find one so IMO that’s a great review.

Looking to upgrade to gen 3 talons and am curious if the remotes and foot switch I have for my original talons will work with the gen 3?

Mind work with one remote, link two and they go to one of none within the next time out.a dealer set them up and worked one and a half trip,so have been just using one remote that stays on dash.warranty does Not cover a dealer if you have program issues and they can make them work no matter the length of time they do work.Been programmed at least 20 times by us.will just use one as I like them better than my p.p.Haven't had them a yr.yet

I've now used my 12' Talons on the water. They work very good. I'm pleased.
