Tin is more expensive than aluminum so enjoy it.

In today's world, they both mean the same thing. However, back before WWII, or thereabouts, the metal foil used in the way we now use aluminum foil was actually made of tin. Real tinfoil is no longer used, but it can still be bought costing over $100 for a 50 foot roll.

Welcome to the weird club Tin Man. I'm weird. One guy called our boats tin cans! I guess his glass jar is his choice.

I take pride in fishing out of a beer canTo be clear I don't drink but we still laugh about calling aluminum boats "beer cans".

It’s easier to spell than aluminum! I’ve wondered the same thing, but since I got my boat last June and joined here I started calling them ‘tins.

So then they are not tin foil hats, they are actually aluminum hats? They sound heavy.
