When using SV is there a ratio between how deep you are and how far out to the sides you should set your SV?
For instance in a lake 10-15 deep should it be in closer to the boat or does it matter?

I set mine 3-4 x water depth.

use whatever that shows you what you want to see
when using my CV51 I set it out to 300ft when in 15-20ft depth because i want to cover a lot of area
If i want to check out a specific say, tree, Il set it to 50ft out in 15-20ft depth to see if there are fish present
