Next weeks Champs is canceled for high water and moved to July 13. I’d bet it’s hot and muggy there in July.

Great time to reschedule Amistad, off site if needed, no permit needed..
I can assure you that mid July is a very tough day on Rayburn. Bring sunscreen.
Brilliant.
Let’s have a tournament in July on one of the Nations best fisheries where 9 jillion boats will be toting around bass in the live wells in 85-100 degree temps.

Correct on the fish kill in that kind of heat. Studies have shown that delayed mortality resulting from hauling fish around all day in livewells is a concern even under good conditions, let alone Texas summer heat. Two or three years back, the Triton Owners Tournament held in early summer on KY Lake experienced a huge bass fish kill. I dont know if all they got out of it was a lot of bad press but it sure does not sit well with a lot of people when it happens.
I was at the owners tournament last year and they preached fish care at the banquet, ice was provided free of charge at Paris landing during both days of the tournament and G juice was given away to all of us and set the limit at 3 fish instead of five. Weigh in was well run and multiple tanks were set up, I was really impressed with the setup.
It seems a lot of big tournaments are dropping their limits from 5 to 3. I think it's smart on their part to try to improve a possible bad situation. These large fishing venues have seen states close bass season until after the spawn and/or put severe restrictions on where and how the fish must be handled and released.
Just saw Texas Team Trail also cancelled.
