Everybody does realize that BassPro is just a sponsor of the BPT and not an owner? It could be the same as Nascar when the contract is up, it could be the Tackle Warehouse Tour next.

you are kidding right? thats why there is so many g2's running around. And people are willing to wait 6 to 8 months on the new v8 4 stroke instead of buying a G2 that there isn't a wait for.

Ive never bought a new boat so I'm not sure how it works. But cant you just order one without an engine and have it rigged with whatever you want ?

The Pro XS 250 4-stroke is actually a little lighter the the G2.
That being said, The G2 is a real performer.
Evinrude is committed to this 2-stroke; the only thing that will move them to 4-stroke would be public perception and sales. They have an excellent line of 4-stroke sled engines, so it's not a stretch.

As I understand it, some dealers will do that and some won’t. That could also vary by brand of boat.

In most cases, yes. But the cost can be significantly higher.

    Yup ^^
The manufacturer gives a discount on a package (basically shipped rigged for you).
You have to negotiate two separate prices if buying the boat/trailer and motor, and then pay the dealer to rig it for you.

Hey. Nothing wrong with having a choice what engine you put on new bass.blaster.
Thats why I won’t buy a skeeter . No mercury no buy.

I’d really like to see a new Skeeter with a G2 on it! Thay would be a sweet ride. Let’s be real though, all of the new HO motors are rather badass! I’ve only seen the new Mercury’s in lower hp models, but I do keep my eyes open at every ramp. Can’t wait to see a new 250 screaming across the lake!

I think cost is a bigger factor there. The G2 was $6k more than the same size ProXS when I was shopping last winter. I'd run one if they weren't so damn expensive.. But my ProXS is a great motor too.
