2018 cougar FTD and 2018 cougar advantage special

Is the main difference in these two boat hulls the type of resin used? I presume both come with the same warranty. Thanks for your input.

There are more differences than that. The top cap is different with the FTD being a bigger deck. The FTD stands for Full Tournament Deck. Also, premium models have several standards which would be upgrades on a Cougar Advantage. The latches, the VE resin, lighted boxes, etc.

    Deck layout is the same.
The above post covers most differences. The cap is also different. The rear of the cap on the Advantage is more rounded like a Pantera II. The FTD model is inset like all premium models.

Interested in the differences as well. I noticed that the BCB web site home page shows a "2019 Cougar FTD Special Package". I've never seen FTD included with SP or AE in the past. Does this mean that the 2019 SP now has the wider FTD deck?

All models have a VE barrier coat. On the premium models, the VE resin is used on all of the outer laminates as well. The Cougar FTD SP is the FTD hull, with a special package of options, so yes, it will have the VE resin layers as all of the premium models do.

Yes, the Premium line has VE resin in 60% of the outer body. The over layering 40% is the same resin as the Vision and Advantage lines. You can option the VE resin on any model. We do highly suggest that option.

The 2019 model Cougar FTD SP is the upgraded options as components and a fuel tank change. The SP (Special Packages) are promotional offerings for retail markets. The SP identity has been used for several year now.
