Question Slidemaster Jack plate bolt torque ???

Have a 2018 Skeeter ZX 225. Made adjustments to jack plate. What should the bolts be torqued to? Thanks in advance.

I’ve always torqued mine “balls to the wall”. Don’t want those suckers getting loose.

I believe R and R Design told me 70 ft.-lbs. Might call them to be sure. Per BCB on the BassCat forum, they say A good estimate would be 65-70 pounds, though we set ours about 50 ourselves.

I've had them come loose. I wouldn't go light.

Per my Mercury owner's manual. Transom bolts: 55 lb-ft; jackplate to engine bolts: 90 lb-ft

I think side bolts are 80 lbs., that's what I set mine at, and have never had one loosen up.

A grade 5 1/2 inch bolt should take 65 ft/lbs. That is safe area in case your torque wrench hasn't been calibrated recently.

I recently had a new engine mounted on my boat. After this discussion I decided to check my mounting bolts. My engine to jack plate bolt started turning at 30 lb-ft. I tightened them to 80 ~ 90 lb-ft. There was an additional set of holes that lined up so I added two more bolts. I did not try the transom bolts due to fear of damaging the watertight seal around them.
