    I HATE hook keepers.

For some reason I hate the stock hook keepers. I use a lot of jig n pigs and jigs with heavy wire hooks, and the gap is too small, and they pin the jig head against the blank and wear into the finish of the rod after riding around in the jet boat. I've been tinkering with different ideas, and so far this is the winner. Single foot, light wire fly guides. Nice round hole for the hook, and keeps the bait away from the blank. With the microwave guides, no issues with the loops of line hitting the keeper on the cast.

I started buying the DS hook keepers that have a bigger gap now. I like em for T rigged baits. Leave the bait skin hooked and just loop the hook around it.

I am going to be the one to say it, WTF do you have them in the chandelier?

You coming to the show? Didn't see your name on any tables so I thought I would ask.

I drill a hole in the trigger on the reel seat to hold the bait

I don't like when they are anywhere but the top. If I get any slack in the line it wraps around it and gets stuck for a moment. A big rip out of grass or the bow and arrow trick to free a hung bait does it a lot .

The Hydra hook keeper is the best, hands down the only keeper I use
