Years ago (about 45) I knew some guys that built one over top of a fire hydrant. Someone couldn't resist it standing that close to the curb. Water, more water, and then ice.

Late 60's when kids started buying 4WD pick ups and running mailboxes down. Ran the old man's over once, he went down 4 ft with a post hole digger, dropped a 3 inch PVC pipe in and drove a few # 9 re-bars inside the pipe. Filled it with concrete and cemented a U shaped piece of re-bar at the base.
Few nights later loud noise, my dad goes out to see this kid with the front of the truck smashed in, and the U-Shaped re-bar hooked under the front bumper. That PVC pipe is still holding that mailbox up 50 years later.

Unfortunately a lawsuit may be in the works.
Somebody probably learned how to drive with an airbag in their lap. Instantly.
Where is the security camera footage when you need it?!?!?!
Even in out lawyer crazy, victim culture, i cant see that goin anywhere. The snowman as clearly on private property and well away from the road. Now the gentleman who put his mailbox on a reinforced concrete post may be exposing himself to serious trouble. Most places have regulations about mailboxes due to their proximity to the road. He'll find out quick if some mom with a minivan full of kids accidently strays off the road and hits it.
Some years ago, some kids were driving over bushes near the curb. Well, one of the bushed hid a huge rock. The car hit it, went over it and got away, but, the rock ripped off the rear bumper with the license plate still attached.
Great job Frosty.
