    I think it might be better with the strap mounting on the lid. Looks like you could open the lid with the rods still strapped down. Seems like I never need to get into my right side locker until I have a bunch of rods strapped down over the top of it.��

    Yes if your straps are on the deck you will not open lid and you could flip them in at least with them on the lid it could save them from going over
    But if you are ordering a boat just tell joe to put them where ever you like yes you can talk to the boss at charger.
