    What Garmin units/transducers to buy?

First off thanks for any help. I have read about Garmin stuff until my eyes cross LOL. I am wanting to replace my front HB Helix with a 9-10" garmin, want a good 2D transducer and something to look foward for stumps/trees and to chase schoolers. Dont really fish vertical at all unless striper fishing in winter. I would like to buy a unit that isn't gpoig to immediately be outdated, and mapping isn't that big of a deal as I rarely use for fishing offshore, but would like to be able to update mapping if needed. Any ideas appreciated.

Sorry, not a knock, but that request just had me laughing out loud.
    Thanks

As for advice on the other aspects of your request, I will leave that to the pros on the site.
I agree the choices available with Garmin can make your head spin.

That unit is not Live Scope compatible......you need the Echomap Plus unit.....it will run some Panoptix ducers......for 2d/side vu ducers, depends on how you want to setup the ducers. Will the 2d be mounted in the bilge as a shoot thru??

We need more information on how you want to set this up......

Also that unit is discontinued.....you already starting off on the wrong foot....

Ok, if you want a 9" unit that will currently run any Panoptix including Live Scope, you can start here:

    Echomap Plus 93sv.

    https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/59.../010-01901-05#

    10" unit with buttons:

    12" unit with buttons:

    https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/67.../010-01741-21#

    12" Touch screen:

and of course they have the 8600 series which is the top of the line starting at a 10" screen:

I can't help on the Garmin fish finders. But on handling and understanding women. I am the ninja master. For those of you that care about that read on.

There are two ways to handle women.
