Anybody Put an Xi3 or Xi5 on Your 17 Foot Tracker Pro 170?

I may be putting an Xi3 or Xi5 on my Pro 170. Can anyone advise me on what length shaft to order? Thanks

Go to tracker boats web site. It shows the P 170 using a Minn Kota with a 45" shaft. I would expect the Xi3/Xi5 should be the same

My 175 came with a Edge hat had a 45" shaft. But you need a longer shaft for the Xi5. IT has about a 6 inch collor on the shaft for adjusting the hight that you need to deduct right off the bat. My Xi5 is the 60" and im glad i didnt get any shorter. I like a longer shaft to go deeper for pulling cranks. And my boat sits pretty high in the front. The 54" or what ever size around there would probably be the best bet for the 170.

I got a 195 and highly recommend a 54” model. Like stated above the collar takes a few inches away. The 170 I believe sits lower so you might swing a 45 but my 45 comes out sometimes when the waves are rolling good.

Don't know if it means anything, but BP only lists a 60" & 72" 24 volt. MG site still shows the 45 & 54 so who knows.

I never had an issue with a 45" Xi5 on my 175 and I've been in some pretty big rollers. Yeah the prop would surface occasionally but never enough to be a problem since I was always spot locked in the really bad stuff anyway. Plus I HATE having a trolling motor stick way up when fishing shallow/stumpy water.

Is either the 12V Xi3 or Xi5 with the 45" shaft available with a transducer built into the foot of the trolling motor?

I am pretty sure all xi5 motors or at least the ones with the pinpoint gps features have a 2d transducer built in.

Thanks Wayne, looks like the Xi5 940800211 is the one with the specs I need. I appreciate the help.

What kind of fishing do you do? The wireless footpedal is difficult to use in tight spaces or running down a bank.

I will probably use the handheld wireless remote for steering. I’m hearing most owners prefer that.

This. To say I'm happy to not have an Xi5 on the nose of my boat anymore is an understatement. I thought I would like steering with the remote but it just became one more thing to deal with while fishing. Then the pedal never acted the same from trip to trip.

So you are using an Ultrex? If I had a 24V system, I probably would too.

Do you have room for a 3rd battery? You would be just fine with a pair of group 24's or 34's if weight is a concern.

No room for third battery without cutting aluminum and encroaching on already extremely limited (and much needed) storage.
