Had both. Ultrex all day every day
    1. Ultrex mount is basically identical to standard. Terrova can require slide mount sometimes. Also, ultrex lifts in and out same as traditional. Terrova you have to push down on handle and left by head of trolling motor. Not bad, but on a bullet you could end up way out on the nose.
    2. Steering - Ultrex food pedal works same as traditional. Terrova is pure electronic. button to go left, button to go right. I got used to it, but weaving in timber can be tricky.

    but

    3. I think the terrova is much lighter, but verify that
    4. Terrova is definitely much cheaper

Had both myself as well. The terrova is a good motor but there is no comparison between it and an ultrex.

The ultrex has a pedal you’ll be more used to, the head turns faster than the head on a terrova and it is much more sturdy. Stop and deploy goes to the ultrex as well.

The only advantage the Terrova has is that it is cheaper.

I agree with everyone above. I've owned both and the Ultrex is the ticket.

Ultrex!!!! I ordered mine from Hodges Marine as there was a shortage when they first came out. I am sure there are some board sponsors that will just about match prices. If you are used to operating a cable for control trolling motor then the ultra is he clear choice. It steers almost exactly like an old school trolling motor. That spot lock is the bees knees!!!!!

You better jump on that deal. That is very cheap. I haven't seen one under $2000 ever.

Had the tour before my ultrex....freakin love the ultrex. I would recommend spending the 150-200 to have it installed by a certified minn kota dealer. 99% of the problems guys have with the ultrex is because they did the install themselves.

If you read some of the adventures of the do it yourselfers on the trolling motor forum you'll see what I mean. Lot of them breaking parts on the tm, didn't install correctly, etc... A lot of guys are saying they may wait until the kinks are straightened out before they get the ultrex because they are reading the reviews of guys that install themselves. Best bet is to have dealer install the ultrex right the first time. Less headache. I haven't had one issue with mine. I'd definitely encourage anyone looking to get the ultrex to do so. Just taking a chance of unit not working correctly if you install yourself.
