    Shaved 300 Promax Heads

Hi. I have a 2002 250 Pro XB SN-OT430677. I’m currently looking for some 300 promax heads and have finally found a set. Only potential issue is they’ve already been shaved 30 thousandths. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what that would put my compression at as I’m not really wanting to go over 140 psi. Thanks guys.

XB's don't have the rod slots cut, so compression is going to be on the high end with already small combustion chambers reduced by milling. I'd say those are strictly racing heads with high octane fuel. I wouldn't use them on a fishing motor. Living on the ragged edge with any pump gas.

Thanks gamblinman. I didn’t know just how much of a difference 30 thousandths would make as far as compression. If they are shaved to to 61cc then we’d be good to go. Anything less than that is a no-go.
