This could be great news for Vexus 1880 - Evinrude G2 135hp for 2019?

Mercury has had a 135HP 4stroke in the Australia market for a couple years at least, and Evinrude has the G1 135HP in the US market now. But, with the success and innovations of the G2 150HP, wouldn’t it be nice to have those same features and looks of this G2 150HP in a G2 135HP motor?

Well, according to The Fisherman online 2019 Outboard Buyer’s Guide:

“The G2 series of outboards is Evinrude’s next-gen product line and it covers all of the V6s from 150 through 300 HP. Talking with the Evinrude engineering team at the recent Ft Lauderdale Boat Show, word is that they plan to incorporate more of the midrange ETEC outboards into the G2 family for 2019, specifically the 90-, 115- and 135-HP V6s.”

I've heard this as well. I had a 150HO G2 and loved it but I love the 200HO I just got more!! The 135HO in a G2 would be awesome!

Wonder if Merc will let us in the US have the 135 Pro SX 4 stroke?

Drool... I would love to bolt a 135 ProXS 4 Stroke on my boat. Would be the absolute perfect motor. Would easily get to 55+ mph.

At that speed, it would run with the 1980 and 150 merc.

That is a good question and one I have asked several merc dealers and all they say is " Not sure". Some did not even know they had one. lol
This would bite the big one if you bought a 1880 this spring and then the announce the 135 mid summer.
