I'm starting to look into repowering my boat. I'm going between a 2018 Evinrude E-Tec G2 150HP (maybe HO) and 2018 Mercury Pro Xs 150hp. The stand alone motor cost is about $3000 less on the G2 right now. I currently running a 2004 Mercury XR6 150hp.
Can anyone articulate what is included in Evinrude's current promo? They give the option of a free "basic rigging kit" or 10 year warranty. Trying to see what is included in the basic rigging kit.

The 10 year warranty is the better option IMO. Think about 5 years from now maybe ya decide to sell the rig. You can still say hey this motor still has 5 years of warranty left, what a selling point!! I re-powered a couple months ago when they offerred the 7 yr warranty. Just missed the 10 yr of course.
You need to talk to them personally about each. Because the 10 year warranty is what I would get most likely but it might be something like 10 years /or 1000 hours. All depends on how much you use your boat if it’s considering hours.Originally Posted by jprovencher80

Why not ask on the Evinrude forum??
I looked but could only find a 2017 Evinrude brochure that listed two different basic rigging kits. When I bought mine I was able to find it online and then had my dealer verify exactly which part numbers were included in the promotion.
Hate to say it but you probably out to ask your dealer. Maybe one of the pros in the Evinrude forum or over at that other site might know.
