    Shimano Spools

I live in the frozen north and clean my reels every winter. I found a Shimano Chronarch 200e7 with a spool that needs to be replaced, as well as a Curado 200ihg that also needs a spool replaced.

Anyone have a good resource for replacement parts? Cheapest I found was $40 for a spool + shipping. Seems spendy for just a spool....

How in the world did you manage to need a spool replaced?

To answer your question, no, thats not expensive.

Great question - have no idea how it happened but after I cleaned both reels I could hear the spool grinding on the frame. I have more of those reel models so I swapped with a known good spool and the noise went away.

I guess I'll have to bite the bullet. Thanks!

Those spools can spread when attempting to free a snagged lure. Happens all the time. Curado E was notorious for that as the spools were super thin spun aluminum, and E7 spools are no longer available from Shimano.

CH200E spools are still available, not as thin, and will fit.

Thanks Dan. Mine is the Curado 200I, and the Chronarch 200e7. I have found some e7 spools online, but good to know that a CH200E spool will fit the 200e7. Do you have these for sale?

No, here's a link to purchase direct from Shimano. Same price as anywhere. Dan
