    I can speak to my case only,

    On or about Thanksgiving Day or one day after 2017 I was transported by abulance from my home to Saint Lukes Hospital on Barry Road in Nroth Kansas City, Missouri. on or about 03 December 17 I was transported by the same ambulance service back to the same hospital with colon issues.
    The Eastern Kansas Heath Care System, Department of Veterans Affairs in Topeka Kansas has refused to pay for both emergency hospitalizations. They are not going to pay for both visits to the aforementioned hospital. I am being pursued by numerous collection agencies, my credit reports are trashed and I am being sued by these collection agencies on the accounts.The Department of Veterans Affairs Eastern Kansas Healthcare System could care less.
    I sure hope these attorney's are not giving you guys bad information;

    Well for sure you need the means to hire a good firm! Pursue this ? If you can’t pay the bill how can you pay lawyers? That’s the stickler here!

    Lawyers will,take it and once they win, the VA will have to pay attorney fees if he’s a good lawyer. Find a lawyer that is a vet. Lots out there.

    " NVLSP wants to hear from veterans about their experiences with the VA when they file reimbursement claims. They can contact NVLSP through 2018vareimburse@nvlsp.org. "

    Squeaky wheel usually gets the grease. Hang in there buddy.

    What are the requirements to the VA being responsible to this? I only ask because I am a vet and I’m on 10% disability now and I’ve always had medical insurance through my employer. however I recently went to another company an no longer have medical insurance. So I am just trying to figure out what I can use the VA for and what if I was to have an emergency?

    I have Tri-Care Prime and am rated a tier 2 disabled vet, 20 year retiree. Last summer I stuck a wire in my eye (long story) on the weekend and had to visit the local ER. First thing I asked if my eye was a qualifying event. They said "life, limb, or eye sight" and I was good. I paid a 60.00 copay. The VA never paid anything according to the statement the hospital sent. Uncle Sugar paid another 60.00 or so on the 980.00 bill. I had scratched my cornea. They gave me some eye drops with antibiotics and told me to visit my eye doc on as soon as possible.

    VT if you don't have COBRA or any other health insurance I would look into ACA, especially if you have a family.
