What rods compare to a NRX 852c ?

    Hi all,

I think I am pretty much set on the NRX 852c for jerkbaits and shakey heads. Since the rod model is quite old, I am wondering what other rods are out there that would compare to the quality of the NRX 852c ?

I am pairing the rod with a Abu MGEXTREME 2 and 10# straight fluro.

    THanks!

Nothing really compares to an NRX 852. Having said that I do fish a Powell 3D Max 713 next to my 852. I really like the Powell and for the money it’s pretty hard to beat.

It's on my list of rods to buy *if I find a deal on one* ;), but I already have a Dobyns DX HP 702 and the truth is I don't throw it much at all, so am hesitant to drop NRX money on a rod that will rarely get used.

Once you have an 852 you will use it! Its actually hard to put down.

I pick up my 872 much more than the 852. I can do more with the 872. Little different tip section than the 852

Are you talking spinning or casting?

I think theyre talking about casting rods, not spinning. However, i agree with you 100%. My 872's get used nearly every trip, i love the fact that it has more tip than the 852. I sold my 852 and now have two 872's
They aint got hands, set the hook

PM Bronzefly or call Tackle Trap, you might be surprised at the price they offer you.

TT is no longer carrying GLoomis, at least for the time being.
