I'm looking for some cable bushings or gland nuts that I can use to wire a sonar installed on top or my center console. I'll need about a 1/2" or 3/4" hole to feed Lowrance power and transducer cable thru, and I don't want to cut and splice the cables - I want something big enough to pass the connectors thru without having to splice them. The sonar is mounted on a RAM ball on top of the console with double-sided 3M tape. I'd like the connectors routed there, with a few inches of slack, so I can disconnect and remove the sonar to prevent thievery.
Was looking at these : https://www.electricalhub.com/sealco...f-dome-fitting , but I'd have to get one large enough to pass the connectors thru. It would be nice to find something that is split so you can put it around the cable prior to install. I'd like it water-tight so I can not have rain dripping inside my console. I could drill a hole, and use a standard grommet, but I'd have to goop it up with sealant to make it watertight.
Ideas?
