    Work rant...what would you do?

So it’s late at night and I’m sitting at the intersection mostly day dreaming of fishing this weekend. Out of the corner of my eye I see this guy approaching the intersection. Now I know he has to see me sitting there and as the light changes to red he slams on the gas. Now I’m thinking to myself this guy has to be drunk because nobody else in there right mind would fly through an intersection with a police car sitting there... so I pull him over mostly to check on him to make sure he is ok to drive and to just give him a warning. Almost instantly he starts giving me attitude and I’ll just want to give him a warning because I don’t want to do the paperwork or go to court. Finally he just tells me to give him a ticket already so I did. Almost felt bad for him but he did ask for it. Do you guys think I did the right thing?

Sounds like he was looking for a ticket. It also sounds like you need a vacation.

Are you sure it wasn't still yellow when he crossed the white line? And what time was it exactly?

Aaron, you done what you thought was best for his sake and he smarted off. That’s his problem. He could have been drunk and you was looking out for him or possibly some other motorists. Don’t worry about it.

You can come to Louisiana where it's not so cold and we love our fishing and our police officers just doing their job.

Lucky he didn't open a can on you. I bet he just pays cash and tells the judge to eat mudsharks.

I would have done what you did and give him what he asked for. He pays your salary after all.
