    Ultrex issue anyone?

I have the Ultrex 112 and love it other than this. When I raise the shaft to fish shallow it always slips back down. Whether I am running down the lake or un-stowing it. I will have some high school kids fishing out of it the next few months and would like to be able to raise it for the shallow fishing. I have tightened it to the best of my ability. Any ideas?

For a cheap fix,use a stainless steel hose clamp on the shaft.

Thanks for the help guys. It is sad we are having to rig up a 2300 dollar trolling motor. I assume you guys are having to adjust the collars with an allen wrench to adjust the height?

Try this it worked for me.. there are days I might have to move it multiple times. I didn't want to move two collars every time or keep up with any tools.
All the collar needs is some reinforcement and it will hold. A big SS fender washer on each side would probably work.

This makes sense. When I was looking at mine I noticed only the tip being closed when tight. I never thought of making it more rigid. Thanks
