    Replacing tip

How is the best way to cut a pole off that has broken tip? just to get it straight.

I've had good results using a fine cut-off disc on a Dremel tool. Go slow and easy so the rod blank doesn't splinter.

If the tip metal part is broken, you don't want to cut the rod. Heat just the eye or end of the metal part with a lighter and pull it off with plyers. Keep all heat away from the rod because if you put flame on the rod it will ruin it.
You can get a kit to replace the tip almost anywhere.

I have cut rods with painters tape and a very good hacksaw, dremel works too fast for me. But billnorman1 has a point, if it is just the tip metal a little heat, pliers, a new tip, appropriate adhesive, and bam, done.
