    Question Lake Verret

    Good Afternoon Guys!
Can anyone tell me what the water conditions are like around the upper Verret and Crackerhead area?
I was considering making a trip out there tomorrow form Baton Rouge but I don't want to make a blank trip if the water is too high and muddy.
    Thanks

I was there a few weekends ago and it was both high and muddy. I doubt much has changed.

This will show the amount of rise in the last week or so. I'm not a high water fisherman, so I don't go til its ~7 * on this indicator...BF

This is a reading at the Bayou Sorrel locks.

    * This some COE or USGS reading, I've used 3' less from that reading. to correlate with Port Allen lock. As to color, guess you have to be there...BF

High and muddy in upper Verret and the Crackerhead, but fishable in some spots if you want to grind it out. 3/8 to 1/2 oz spinnerbaits with Colorado or Indiana blades, bulky jigs, and KVD 2.5 squarebills bumping lay downs and cover are catching some decent fish, but you have to really crash the baits into the wood for best results. Need a good hard North wind to blow......save more rain.

Thanks for the update & tips!
Looks like we’re going to Des Allemands instead of Verret.
