    Bluetooth Speaker In Z-18

I wanted to add a bluetooth speaker to my z-18 for those hot days of anchoring out and going for a swim. I did not want to have to cut any holes in the fiberglass anywhere so when I found a 6x9 bluetooth wakeboard tower speaker and amp all in one on Amazon I figured I would give it a try. I took off the pipe rack bracket and had a piece of aluminum bent to mount the speaker to the plate that covers the hot foot notch.

Here is a picture of how it turned out.

I am pleased with it, although it is actually a little larger speaker than what I pictured using it has a good sound and the fact that it is all in one unit and that it just requires a power wire is really nice. Even with the larger size speaker there is plenty of room for my feet on either side of it and underneath.

You're right - it is a little large, but it looks great to me. I have been thinking about doing the same thing so I thank you for do the R&D.

Thanks! I have some more pictures of the install I can post when I get back to my computer sometime if you would like.
Also since I purchased this speaker (it was the only marine all in one bluetooth speaker I could find at the time) I did see a smaller pair of bluetooth marine speakers on Amazon that could work but they have no reviews so far.

Ya I thought about mounting it under the passenger console since there is more room to actually tuck it up into the console, and will have to do that one day if I get a hot foot. I liked the simplicity of just running the wire from the fuse box under the driver’s console and fo now I still like the idea of being able to remove the passenger console(may find I never use that feature and decide to move the speaker there later)

I am constantly removing and inserting the passenger console as well. Wife and and kids like it in, tournaments I take it out. Love that feature. Probably just use a portable speaker and install a 110v plug. I like your idea of having it hard wired though so you don't worry about it dying.
