    Question for BCB

I'm replacing the negative buss bar on the transom. Is there anything that should be applied to reduce the chance for corrosion once assembled?

I did not use anything when I replaced mine on my 2010 PII but I will add that you should check/replace the main and jumper wires for corrosion inside the insulation jacket.

Yes sir. One of the first things I do on any new Cat is put it on the connections on those bars, and then, at the beginning of every season.

Sorry if this is considered high jacking but I'm just trying to learn and understand. But when you say "main and Jumper cables" what specifically are these? Does one of these go directly in the terminal bar mounted on the transom? Does the "Jumper" go directly to the battery? I'm sure this is common sense to most but I want to know exactly as I'm doing a complete inspection and reorganizing of my wiring.

I may not be using the proper name. “Main” would be a wire that goes somewhere (blue arrow). In this case to a grounding source. The “Jumpers” are the loops that go to another screw on the same bar (green arrow). This is NOT my boat but just a picture I grabbed off the web. My bilge would never be this dirty!
