    Question 2008 Triton 21x- 2018 250 Merc ProXS 4 stroke

24" 3 blade Fury 69.3 mph at 5810 rpms, this is a pretty light load solo with empty livewells and 3/4 gas tank, 10" manual JP, single console, no pole seats, dual 10' pp blades, fortrex tm. Would dropping a pitch on prop to increase rpms also increase mph or not. What are yall's opinions or recommendations? Thanks!

Ive already adjusted it. It did have more room to open up further. There wasn't a significant gain in performance though.

Are there any preferences to the tempest or fury for a 21' triton hull?

Try raising the motor on the jack plate first

Whats your prop to pad measurement? That's a lot of water pressure.

Just from what I have seen the 23 Fury is what seems to be the prop. The new motors appear to be designed with that prop in mind.

Had the motor remounted to the highest mounting holes which gains me 1.5" of additional running height. So far the 24 3 blade fury has been slower at the increase heights, I have lowered the plate to the original height to keep performance as it was before remounting. The boat runs flat at WOT and tends to blow out during the holeshot, feathering the throttle helps. I hope to borrow the 24 tempest again and try it higher. I have read here that the tempest will lift the bow better. Thoughts?

If you put a 23" fury on it you'll gain rpm's and maybe some hole shot but not any speed. You should have raised the motor one hole not two or lowered it down 3/4" and tried it with the fury. The Tempest will carry the bow higher than the fury unless you have the fury worked. Running a fury that high will throw a blade on your prop.

Mercury just released a video that they are rebuilding 3 liter 2 stroke blocks as fast as they can because so many boats have been built and designed around the higher torque and the new motor is not working for some applications. Their words not mine. The video is on YouTube under boatest.com I about crapped in my pants when I saw it. Think it’s only been out a couple days.

3 blade fury’s like to be ran deeper...
#2 an ODD pitch 23/25/27 will have more cupping and offer more bow lift..

Mercury will have to build parts and replacement motors for 2 strokes for 20 years with all the motors that they have sold. You can buy remanufactured power heads for motors like old 2.5 efi's they have not made for 20 years or more now.
