    Bunk Bracket?

I have a 2002 ez loader custom Triton single axle trailer. I plan on re-doing the bunks this spring and upon inspection the rear welded bunk brackets seem to be very rusty...…………...surprisingly the only bit of rust on my whole damn trailer!!!

Should I just cut the rusty one off and install a bolt on or are they crap has anyone used them?

The rust is likely from the pressure treated lumber. If it is just surface rust and the bulk of the structure is still there you should be fine to clean the rust off and prime and paint. If the bracket is pitted to the point considerable thickness is lost in places yes you should have the bracket cut off and replaced.

No problem just went through the same thing and got the same advice from here. I’m not sure if it helps at but I also added a very thin layer of high durometer buna N sheet between the bracket and boards as an insulator but good paint should be enough as long as you make sure the surface is in good shape.
