    Xpress H22B

    So you Xpress guys,

I have a Xpress 22ft bay with a 200 SHO recently flashed to a 300, I run a 10"Atlas hydraulic jack plate and currently a Mercury Tempest Plus 22p prop. Prior to the flash I was about 58 ( gps) and just under 6k rpm's.

2 questions: What pitch prop do you think I would need to run now? And what improvement would think I would gain?

    Thank

What is the rev limiter set at? If it is 7000 or more just run the 22" and see how it performs.

Kept the rev limiter at factory setting, 6250.

If I had access to a 24 Tempest I might try that.

You were turning the 22" just under 6000 before the flash so I would think you gained enough h.p. to turn a 24 at 6000-6200.

Let us know how this works out. It is likely many others considering a flash will be watching this thread.

So, I ran a new 23 p Tempest plus and got up to 66.3 mph ( gps) with a bad chime walk. May have been trimmed a little too high. Ran a smooth 55 mph at 5k. I did drive through some of the chime walk at reached 68.2 @ 6200, but had to back off. I never hit factory rev limiter.

More seat time will help with the chine walk.

    Update:

So I had a Tempest plus 22p prop. I ran the 23p then took the 22p to Bo @ Bo's props told him what he 23 was doing and he worked the 22p.
I ran it at 68 mph ( gps) and 6150 rpm. The boat did not start to walk until I tried for a little more trim. Not sure if I have it all just yet, going to
    try a 23p Scorpion next.

Danny, I don't think you will have many aluminum bay boats passing you at 68 mph.

Good info! I wonder if they can flash the F200XB?
