this is the same air box i have , the bottom hose i can attach but the top right hole
doesn't go in, someone said there's a grommet of some kind to except the hose .

The grommet is part of the opening, if you have the service manual look at chapter 4 page 33, 4-41 and 4-43 you will see the hose inserted into the opening. It is a short section of hose of the T from the vapor pump it should be 5/32" hose and will slip right into the hole, unless someone has changed the hose.
ill take some pics but that hose that seems to go to the box will not fit into the hole the O.D of the hose is the same
as the I.D of that grommet thing.......just doesn't go in.
Do you have the service manual?
the only one i have is the online version and it's not to clear.....not up to date

This is the side view of the hoses.
This is a 90/115 HP but it is the same deal as you 175.
This is the front view showing the yellow circled hose that plugs into the upper right hole in the air box. It will fit snug unless someone has replaced that piece.
so this is what i have ......the hose that is hanging. i believe this goes in there.....same size as the hole.

Did you even look at my post and pictures?? It looks like someone has replaced your hose going into the air box. Your second picture is to small even if I save it to my desktop and then try to open it up it is distorted. The hose should be 5/32" same size as the recirc hoses.Originally Posted by tav

Yup I saw it . Looks the same .yea that hose area
Needs a little works.
i did call a shop and no where did he see adapter for that hose to the box......so all 's i did
was cut a a 45deg. on the edge of the hose and it slipped right in.
should of done that from the beginning. thanks for all your help.
Don't believe I ever said anything about an adapter for the hose, I did say the hose may have been replaced at one time and that may be the reason it didn't fit. Glad you got it worked out.
