I've been advised that if I wasn't to up the HP of my SHO that I would need to replace the intake manifold for greater air flow and replace the fuel injectors for greater fuel flow. Oh and to get a bigger wallet to support the extra cash outflow.

The SHO has variable valve time, which means the cam lift can be changed via computer only. Fuel mapping is changed, cam timing changed, etc... I have a 225 on a ranger z119c. I flashed it to 300 and went from a 25 T1 yamaha prop at 5850 RPM and 72 mph to a 26 T2 at 6050 RPM at 78 mph loaded. I've had it at 80.2 mph by myself with a half tank of gas, but it will run 76 to 78 loaded with two people full tackle and full fuel.

The 200 is the exact same motor as the 250, it has just been “detuned”. So you aren’t actually gaining 100 horsepower as it’s the exact same as the 250. I hope that makes sense.

From a manufacturing standpoint, making all form 200 to 300 HP identical and controlling with software is the least inexpensive way to go. And you need less replacement parts in inventory.

Lots of doubters out there until they see the rooster tail on one of these 200's disappear in the distance. But then again they will come up with another reason it happened.
