    Ram mount base to dash plate

    Has anyone tried to mount a ram mount base to the aluminum dash plate? Is it strong enough to support the mount arm and a HDS 9? see attached photo

    It's pretty thin, I would get one made from 1/8 or better yet, 3/16 aluminum. Use yours as the template.

    What not put the ball mount on the right of the console, into the fiberglass? Then you won’t have it in the way of your steering?
