Navionics Chart Viewer has two map layers that you turn on and off by clicking on the symbol at the lower left. When the symbol is Blue, that is Sonar Charts which is sonar unit user data processed by Navionics into HD contour mapping. When the symbol is Grey, that is Navionics data (Nautical Charts).

Google Earth has a Time Slider. It's the clock icon with green arrow wrapped around it at the top.

The white dots you are seeing could also be the sunlight reflecting off of surface chop on the water.

Thank you without creating a new thread does anyone have any input on some hot spots or things to look for breaking down this specific lake in Iowa during mid April?
This is my first real break down of a map so just trying to get a system

I know on google earth desktop version you can look at different years.

Google earth to me is handy in looking at a large lake, or a lake that is drawn down every year. I use navionics maps, and have some of the lake map books as well. I like quick drops, which are easy to find on maps with contour lines. On google earth I use it on two corps lakes that are drawn down to try and find the old road beds, brick piles, foundations, and isolated stumps.

Funny thing. There two twelve mile lakes in Iowa. One in Emmet County and one in Union County. You are asking about the Union County lake - right?

I would bet the white dots are some type of bird/duck on the water.
