    Grill Grate for Pellet Grill

Wife surprised me with a Traeger for Christmas and have been doing a lot of research for good recipes. I see a lot of guys are using a grill grate for reverse searing. Before I pull the trigger on a $80 searing grate, I thought I'd ask you guys what you recommend. I was looking at an 18.5" GrillGrate (www.grillgrate.com). This one just seems a little pricey for what it is... Thanks

I don't own one, well at least not yet, but everything I see and read is telling me it's a must-have accessory for making steaks. I don't know if that is right or not, it's just what I read but what I can tell you is something my buddy's wife always says to him when she spends too much money on something... "once you buy it, you own it, and then it's your forever!"

Thanks. Just ordered one on grillgrate.com. FYI, I used promo code Grate15 and saved 15% on my order.

Grill grates are fantastic. I use them a lot on my RecTec. You can sear steaks and cook chicken, burgers and whatever you want. It increases the temp by quite a few degrees. Leaves that nice sear mark. You can use them on the flat side or the slot side. I like the flat side for doing burgers. So juicy.

This is a cheaper alternative to the grill grates...and you must be talking papa murphys pizza. If doing fresh made pizza dough are you sliding off with parchment paper? I know you ain't sliding off a peel directly to grates...it would drip between the grate.
