    Winter projects

Since it's winter here in Iowa and I happen to have a small fab shop, I've decided to start a few projects on my new (to me) Stroker. I'm planning to re configure the rear compartments by building new aluminum battery trays (apparently nobody sells a tray for three batteries) cleaning up the wiring and adding a new 4 bank NOCO charger. I'm also installing new Autometer gauges and getting rid of the non functional HDS5.

Today I started building a new deck extension. I figured I could improve on the one that came with the boat. The new one will be bigger and have an access door, plus a bulkhead underneath to keep everything secure. It will be made of some 6061 aluminum plate I have laying around. Here are some pics to get you all inspired to start your own projects. I'll update this as I have time to get more done.

The deck extension is very similar to the one Chub was making before the newer fiberglass one with the step came out. It's very close to what is in mine.

This one came out of Louisiana, by way of Batesville, Arkansas.

Started working on the rod holders today, the fronts are about ready for powder coating. I tend to jump around from project to project...

Looks like you have put a great deal of thought and effort into the extension. Looking good.

If I have any winter projects it's to pull the troller, ped seats and change lowers to the 1.62 case and just go play.

I installed new stainless pop up cleats with black bezels. I ordered new polished billet vents for the battery compartments but couldn't find black bezels to match the cleats. Today I broke out the Bridgeport and made my own bezels. Now they need powder coated to match the cleat bezels.

Made new battery hold downs today out of some .160" 5052. I may add some dimple die holes to make them look better. My batteries should now be secure.
