    v175 xri s/n od082173 what would be the cause?

    Excess electrical usage, not using recommended battery , running with bad battery, non-OEM regulators or bad luck.
    If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,
    nothing else matters.​

    will a bad regulator stop the engine from running ? I was running about 30 mph and it stopped dead .

    bad goes dead fuel pump quits also some ecu are sensitive to low voltage just like high voltage and will turn of pump
    .................................................. ...the scariest thing in life is the unknown ...................................

    Poor cable connections also among the list of TOP causes. Nearly all regulator failures can be traced to a battery or connection problem.
